Synergy North Pressing Pause on Delivery Rates
Thunder Bay, ON – The Ontario Energy Board has approved a local distribution revenue increase for Synergy North, however; customers will not see the rate increase on May 1, 2020. To provide relief and help customers during this time, the increase is being deferred by the utility to November 1, 2020.
The rate deferral will amount in the following monthly bill savings:
- The Synergy North residential customer deferred rate increase will amount to savings of 88¢ on a residential customer using 750 kWh per month.
- Small business customer charges from Synergy North deferred rate increase will amount to savings of $2.37 on a typical bill for 2000 kWh.
These delivery rates are separate from the cost of electricity use. On April 14, 2020, the Ontario Energy Board announced that winter Time of Use prices will also continue beyond May 1, 2020.
