SYNERGY NORTH Corporation is in the process of preparing its Cost of Service application to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to file for a rate adjustment to take effect in the Spring of 2024.
What is a Cost of Service Application?
Every five years, electricity distribution companies in the Province of Ontario, such as SYNERGY NORTH must submit a new Cost of Service Application to the OEB to adjust their distribution rates. After review, the OEB gives a ruling on the application.
To accommodate the merger of Thunder Bay Hydro and Kenora Hydro, we were able to defer our application the last application for an additional two years.
Why is SYNERGY NORTH applying for a Rate Adjustment?
SYNERGY NORTH is applying for an increase to help support our reliability and sustainability to build the distribution system required to enable electrification for our communities.
Our customers are important to us. We understand that our customers are facing cost pressures at home now more than ever. Our goal is to balance our community needs with fair prices associated with operational demands.
We have made every effort to implement efficiencies such as our recent merger, to support cost reductions for our customers as much as possible.
