Synergy North Extending Disconnection Ban for Customers
Thunder Bay, ON – Synergy North is making changes to support customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Effective immediately, the province-wide disconnection ban scheduled to end April 30, 2020 has been extended for an additional three months from today.
“We hope that extending the period without disconnections will provide peace of mind and temporary relief to those customers who are in need” says Tim Wilson, Executive Vice-President, Synergy North
As usual, customers concerned about paying their bill are encouraged to contact Synergy North to discuss extended bill payment options.
The utility is also reminding customers of provincial financial assistance programs, including emergency relief, are available to its customers:
- The Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), which provides emergency financial relief to eligible low-income customers to avoid having their service disconnected.
- The Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), which enables eligible low-income customers to receive a fixed monthly credit on their electricity bills.

As announced Monday, for the health and safety of its’ employees and customers, Synergy North has closed all locations to walk-in services until further notice.

We are committed to working with the province and industry leaders to maintain services for our customers while protecting our employees and the community. We appreciate the understanding of our customers during this difficult time” continues Wilson.
