Synergy North and Alzheimer’s Society Encourage Customers to Go Paperless
June 26, 2020
Synergy North is giving customers a new reason to switch to electronic billing.
Starting in July, for each customer who registers for electronic billing, Synergy North will donate $5 to the Alzheimer’s Societies in Kenora or Thunder Bay until the end of September. This partnership is the beginning of a year long campaign that will highlight and support a variety of non-profit organizations in the region.
“We are encouraging all of our customers to sign up for e-billing to help reach our goal of a $10,000 donation to the Alzheimer’s Society,” says Robert Mace, President and CEO, Synergy North. “Over 1 million Canadians are affected by dementia each year. By participating, customers will help provide funds for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, including their caregivers.”
Relying on donations, communities and partnerships; the Alzheimer Society strives to identify, develop and deliver resources that enable its members to ease the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias; while still promoting research and leading the search for a cure. The Kenora and Thunder Bay offices service 3,900 members in the Northwest region.
“We provide programs to ensure individuals living with dementia live as independently as possible, and with the best possible quality of life,” says Ted Davis, Board President of the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay. “Most of us are directly or indirectly connected to someone with dementia, which means there is a dire need for support. 50% of our funding comes from fundraisers, and we are truly lucky to have the support of Synergy North and our community at large. Such a simple act of going paperless can bring support to local families in need.”
Electronic billing allows customers to receive their electricity bill quickly and securely directly to their email. By transitioning customers to e-billing, Synergy North will reduce billing costs that will result in future savings for rate payers.
With this option, customers also gain access to the MyENERGY service. MyENERGY allows customers to manage their electricity account online, view their energy consumption, as well as access current and past statements to ensure payment and receipt of their bill on time.
Customers can register for electronic billing by visiting synergynorth.ca or calling Synergy North at 1-833-428-1451.
