Synergy North is Providing Free Block Heater Timers this Winter
Thunder Bay, ON, February 7, 2020 – Synergy North is giving its customers a solution for those looking to save on energy and their electricity bill over the winter months. Today, the utility announced the return of its Save on Energy Block Heater Timer program; adding EcoSuperior as its delivery partner. The new initiative offers a free block heater timer to Synergy North customers, to help them save energy while plugging in their vehicles.
“Synergy North is pleased to introduce the availability of this program in Northwestern Ontario again. Winter can be hard on your vehicle and your electricity bill. Synergy North encourages homeowners to be energy conscious; through this program, we aim to provide a solution to help you save energy and dollars on your electricity bill and avoid that chilly trip out to your vehicle to go plug it in, first thing in the morning or late at night,” says Jake Allen, Synergy North, Supervisor, Energy Efficiency Services.
A block heater timer can reduce energy consumption and save program participants up to $25 a year on winter bills. There are also several benefits for your vehicle; namely keeping your engine warm to protect several parts and components of your vehicle, making it easier to start on cold mornings. A common misconception is that you need to have your vehicle plugged in all day long during the winter months. Plugging in your vehicle four hours before you need to go somewhere and using a block heater when the temperature drops to -15°C is enough for your vehicle.
The Save on Energy Block Heater Timer program is being offered to eligible customers in Thunder Bay and Kenora. To receive a free block heater timer, simply make an appointment by calling toll free 1-833-428-1451 or by email at bht@synergynorth.ca. An EcoSuperior Conservation Coach will come to your home to install the block heater timer all free of charge.
“Synergy North understands our customers are unique when it comes to our weather and energy usage throughout the winter months. We wanted to provide an alternative for those cold days to get your vehicle started, but not waste energy. Limited quantities of the block heater timers are available and interested customers are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to participate in this new program “continues Allen.
