COVID-19 UPDATE

With COVID-19 top of mind, the health and well-being of our customers and employees is our number one priority. We have made some changes to our operations to ensure we can continue to service our customers.



CUSTOMER SERVICE

All our business locations have been closed to the public until further notice, in addition to off-site work with customers.

Our Synergy North Call Centre remains open. Call us anytime – Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm, toll-free at 1-833-428-1451 or email us at customerservice@synergynorth.ca.



RATES

The COVID-19 Recovery Rate is in effect around the clock for Synergy North customers from June 1st, 2020 – October 31st, 2020. Synergy North Time of Use (TOU) customers will not be subject to regular TOU rates and will be paying  12.8¢ per kWh during this period. See how this will impact your next electricity bill. 



LOCATE SERVICES

We are now resuming our Locate services.  If you submitted a request in April and did not get a completed Locate, we ask that you please resubmit your request.  

In order to keep our customers informed, you will be notified prior to Locates staff entering onto your private property to perform their work. 

Thank you for your patience and understanding. 

To resubmit your request please contact Ontario One Call and you will receive information on how to make an appointment for a Locator to access your private property. Please have your Ontario One Call ticket number ready for reference.



DISCONNECTIONS

Effective immediately, the province-wide disconnection ban has been extended for customers to July 31, 2020.

Customers concerned about paying their bill are encouraged to contact Synergy North to discuss extended bill payment options.

Synergy North also has provincial financial assistance programs, including emergency relief, available for customers:

Additionally, the Government of Ontario has announced additional relief for electricity bills. Details on how customers can access these funds will be released as information is available.

  • The COVID-19 Electricity Assitance Program (CEAP), which provides one-time payment support to customers who require help in paying any electricity debt during the COVID-19 period.
  • The COVID-19 Electricity Assitance Program for Small Businesses (CEAP-SB), which provides support to small business owners who require help in paying electricity bills as a result of COVID-19.
